Asia Argento is an Italian actress and film director who came from the largest family with both. She's pursued the two fields of work for herself. The actress made her debut when she was just nine years old in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni (1985). In 1988, she played her role as the main character in Cristina Comencini's first film, Zoo (1988), and was part of the cast of The Church (1989), directed by Michele Soavi. The film she made about her dad was followed by Abel/Asia (1998), a film that won a prize at the Rome Film Festival in 1998. They were the two films she directed between 1996 and 1998. Asia made her debut as a feature director in Scarlet Diva (2000). In this film, she was also the lead actress and wrote the screenplay. The film premiered on May 20, 2000, in Italy and around the world. It was also released in Brooklyn, New York it was awarded an award at the Williamsburg film festival. Anna Lou was her first born daughter in 2001. After the directing of several music videos she had Anna Lou. The year 2002 saw Asia as a character in The Red Siren with Jean Marc Barr, and Rob Cohen's Action thriller, which was directed by Vin Diesel. Asia also wrote some short stories which have been published by many magazines.
